Summer at the Cinema

I am addicted to popcorn. There I’ve said it. And they say the first step to overcoming an addiction is to admit you have it in the first place. Only I don’t exactly want to overcome this addiction. Eating popcorn reminds me of sitting in a dark theatre munching away while staring at a huge screen where a film is playing. And there’s no better time to do this than during the summer to escape the sultry heat of summer. I thought I’d share with you my ecclectic tastes in films I want to see this summer. I might decide to give my own review when I see them.

  • Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (can’t figure out if SS is supposed to be good or bad, though)
  • Shrek the Third
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
  • Transformers (only cos they’re familiar from childhood)
  • Ocean’s Thirteen
  • Underdog (I am familiar with the cartoon)
  • Nancy Drew
  • Live Free or Die Hard (don’t quite know why this made the list when I’ve only seen the first two)
  • Hairspray
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End
  • Ratatouille

I told you I have weird tastes in films!!!

    1. Yup – I definately will see some of those in theatre too. We’ll compare notes!

    2. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer – I can’t wait to see this, I just saw the previews last night while watching Heroes.

Shrek the Third – Love Shrek

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix – Probably will see this one.
Transformers (only cos they’re familiar from childhood) – No desire to see this but since I have a son I’m sure he will be interested.

Ocean’s Thirteen – ?What? I didn’t know there was going to be another one. I’ll have to see this one.

Underdog (I am familiar with the cartoon) – ??
      Nancy Drew – ??
Live Free or Die Hard (don’t quite know why this made the list when I’ve only seen the first two) – Love the Die Hard movies.

      Hairspray – eh? Not sure.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End – Of course, but just for Johnny Depp

      Ratatouille – ??

    3. Unbalanced…

Go here for info about Underdog the cartoon series: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underdog_(TV_series)

Nancy Drew is a classic detective series featuring a young girl (early teens) called Nancy Drew. They were geared toward girls. The Hardy Boys were for boys.

Hairspray was/is a Broadway musical which has been previously made into a film. Ricki Lake starred in it the first time. This is a remake.

Ratatouille – Disney’s latest animated film.

    4. Awww, the light dawns. I remember Underdog now.

I knew I’d heard of Nancy Drew before… I just went and watched the trailer, ok definitely want to see that one.

Ratatouille – now I remember this one. Sure I’ll see it with the kids.

We seem to have similiar taste in movies. 🙂
